Question: What are the best vegan scones in L.A.?
Answer: This is a tough question, because I can't think of any places that definitely have them off the top of my head. Whole Foods sells them on the East Coast, but not on the West for some reason. Here are some places that have them, but not sure which is best:
- BabyCakes (Downtown) - (my review)
- C'est La V (found at Locali, Cafecito Organico, farmers markets, and vegan events) - (one of my reviews)
- Interim Cafe (Santa Monica) had them at one point, but I'm not their biggest fan
- Le Pain Quotidien was selling them last fall, not sure if they still are... (they have multiple locations)
- M Cafe (multiple locations) has them sometimes
- Seed Kitchen (Venice) has them on weekends (my review)
- T Salon (West Hollywood) has them on occasion (photos of them on this post)
- Zen Bakery (West LA) also sells them in natural markets
- here's a list of bakeries with vegan options in L.A. - some may have scones on occasion
Many L.A. based vegan companies can send you scones to your home if you order in advance. Check out:
Of course, if none of these places are convenient, make your own vegan scones! Here are some recipes to check out:
- Really Good Vegan Raisin Scones
- Vegan Chocolate Chip Scones
- Romancing The Scone (blueberry)
- Lemon Maple Scones with Vegan Clotted Cream
- Maple Nutty Scones
