Natural Hair Products That Work Wonders!
Disclosure: this post was sponsored by Pureland Beauty.
I’ve been using natural hair care products since 2003 (at least). I decided to go vegan back then and I started learning about cruelty-free body care. It was an easy choice for me to switch to plant-based shampoo and conditioner. But it took some time for me to figure out what worked best for my hair. In fact, I’ve been experimenting ever since with a few hits and many misses. Recently, I received cleansing, conditioning and styling products from Pureland and I’ve been absolutely blown away by how great they make my hair look and feel.
Fight Frizzy Hair with Original Sprout’s Natural Hair Care Products
Product review by EvG team member Amanda Shea:
As someone with long, wavy hair, I often find myself struggling to detangle my hair after a shower. Fortunately, Original Sprout sent me their 4 ounce bottles of Hair & Body Babywash, Deep Conditioner, and Miracle Detangler. The detangler works wonders. I squirted a little into my hair and was able to easily run a brush through my hair. The shampoo, conditioner, and detangler used in combination left my hair silky smooth, with no frizz in sight.
Eat Smarter, Don't Diet Harder: The Best Way to Lose Weight
One of the most common themes in the questions I am asked is how to lose weight on the plant-based diet. I always try to address this topic carefully, as it's a sensitive subject. Having struggled with an eating disorder in my teens and twenties and body image issues most of my life, I understand how important one's mental state is to feeling good physically and emotionally. Changing my diet has had an ongoing impact on my life, including healthy weight loss and the ability to maintain it. Additionally, learning about how food impacts the body helped me feel more grounded and comfortable in my skin, and reduced unhealthy eating habits (like binging and purging).
I've also discovered that there is no such thing as a quick fix or a one-size-fits-all trick, and that keeping the body thriving inside and out is a perpetual process. That's why I love coming across weight loss advice that offers long-term, nutritious tips featuring food and healthy emotional guidance. Here are some of my latest favorites, starting with 10 delicious, body-friendly foods.

Green Living: Eco 8000 by BARBAR - A Better Hair Dryer for Your Body and The Planet
Most women (and some men) spend a lot of time styling their hair - spending lots of money and time on hair cuts and products. Unfortunately, these beauty routines aren't very eco-friendly or healthy, as the products as often full of harmful chemicals. This probably isn't new information to you, so perhaps you use organic products. However, you may not know this: most hair dryers give off as much radiation as a microwave - YIKES!
EVG Video Update, featuring Elliott's Ethos
A while back I did a survey and asked EVG readers what they liked best about the site, and most people answered that they like the video content. Thus, I have been feeling super guilty about my lack of video posts recently...or lack of original posts all together. So, I decided to try to do some quick YouTube updates and feature all the amazing companies I've been meaning to review for so long.
No Need For 'Poo
I'm sure it is obvious that I'm obsessed with finding new ways to be healthier and greener, and I'm about to take a step in a pretty radical direction: I'm going to stop shampooing my hair.
Eco-Vegan hair care in an aluminum container!
You may have read my post last week about the importance of avoiding plastic bottles. After seeing the documentary Tapped I went home and started recycling all my plastic containers. Then I walked into my bathroom and realized almost all of my body products were in plastic, and I felt defeated. Luckily, I found an answer to the problem at Natural Products Expo West.

Green Drinks at Shades in Beverly Hills
Last night my friends and I stopped by Green Drinks at Shades Natural Color in Beverly Hills. I was excited to go there because I've been meaning to check out the eco-vegan salon for a long time. It's a really neat place and I look forward to going in and trying out their services at some point.
