Attention Mommies in Los Angeles: scoop up your babies, grab your stroller, and head to Sherman Oaks - there's a new sustainable store in town just for you! Whether you've just discovered that you're pregnant (congrats!) or you're raising a toddler, I highly recommend you check out GreenCradle.

"Offering families products that not only say ORGANIC or ALL NATURAL on their labels, but actually contain no chemicals, no synthetic preservatives, and no toxic fire retardants-- nothing unhealthy for you or your environment"

The store is well laid-out, welcoming, easy to navigate, and they have free parking in the back. If you don't have any youngins you can still find something for your home at GreenCradle: they sell organic beds, mattresses, and some pet products.

On Saturday the new green business held a party to celebrate the launch of a new book called Organically Raised by Anni Daulter, which has received praise from many celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Gwen Stefani, and Ricki Lake.

"A cookbook with a conscience, Organically Raised shows parents how to replace bland processed shelf staples with flavorful, pesticide-free meals that babies will love, laying the groundwork for a lifetime of good nutrition and enthusiastic eating."

The event was presented by my eco pal Rachel Sarnoff of EcoStiletto - I can always count on a good time when she's involved.
