In February I was approached about applying for a program Ford Motor Company was launching called the Fiesta Movement. They were offering a fuel-efficicent car with all expenses paid (gas, insurance, various travel costs) in exchange for authentic video content and social media posts about the experience. After considering the opportunity and what it would mean for Eco-Vegan Gal, I realized it could help me generate more fun, fresh and inspirational content, so I sent in an audition video. While waiting for the outcome I became more and more excited about it, imagining all the adventures I could capture and share with you, which was quite nerve racking as I found out over 5,000 people had applied! Fortunately, I found out in May that I was accepted amongst a group of incredible YouTubers, and I was exstatic!

Veg Options in San Diego For Comic Con

vegan comic con

This post was inspired by a tweet from Wilfred star Fiona Gubelmann, who was looking for vegetarian options around the Gas Lamp area of San Diego while there for Comic Con. I've only been to San Diego once years ago so I reached out to the EvG social media community and they had these great suggestions:

1. Evolution Fast Food (2949 5th Ave - 2.5 miles from the Convention Center) ~ top recommendation

2. Pokez Mexican (947 E St - 1.2 miles away) ~

3. Yard House (1023 4th Ave - .7 miles away) ~ lots of options with Gardein

4. Masala Spices of India (314 K Street - .4 miles away)

5. Tao (3332 Adams Ave - 7.5 miles away) ~ highly rated restaurant so might be worth the drive!

6. Lotus Cafe and Juice Bar (3955 5th Ave - 3 miles away)

7. Peace Pies (4230 Voltaire Street - 7.5 miles away) ~ raw, vegan, organic, and gluten free!

A viewer named Liz asked me if I had some vegan UK resources. Unfortunately I've only been to the UK once and it was before I was vegan, but after reaching out to my social media community I received some great tips!

I'll begin with Corinne's advice - she sent me a very detailed email. Here's what she had to say:

Healthy Vegan Food in Las Vegas: Interactive Map

Las Vegas isn't usually the place to go when you're eating healthy. One would assume it's also not great for vegans either, but when you look closely and do your research both assumptions are quite false. You may have seen my reviews from my trips to Vegas in the past, but those were the old days - my diet has changed and the city is getting healthier and healthier, so I can't wait to go back and try it all out.

Cleanse Q&A On UStream (Video)

Since I've been receiving so many questions about cleansing I decided to do a live Q&A session on UStream. It was a last minute decision but I still received 17 lives views, and since it went so well I'm going to do more and give you a heads up so you can tune in and interact with me next time. If you missed the live show, you can watch it here:

Vegan Tour of Portland, OR with Robert Cheeke (Video)

I really should have posted this last week before Portland was flooded with vegans from Vida Vegan Con...oh well. This is a video I taped a year and a half ago when I visited PDX for the first time thanks to vegan bodybuilder Robert Cheeke - been meaning to edit it ever since but life got in the way until now. We went to so many restaurants and vegan shops in just 4 days, and each place is summarized in about 1 minute in this video. Here's where we went:

We've all been there - time is running out and just as you're headed out the door you remember you haven't eaten all day. With no time to make or pack food - what to do? Or, you're at the airport about to board a plane and don't want to be stuck without anything to eat or paying $10 for a bag of GMO potato chips. That's exactly why GoPicnic was created.

My boyfriend lives in San Francisco, and he's totally worth doing the long distance. But every time we travel to see each other some things cross my mind:

  1. It takes a lot of time out of my day if I'm traveling (3 - 9 hours each way)
  2. It is expensive ($100-$150 round trip)
  3. Traveling isn't very eco-friendly
For now, this is what we have to do to be with each other. So I decided to figure out the way to travel with the smallest carbon footprint.

Greetings from Farm Sanctuary

I'm back up North at Farm Sanctuary for the first time for their Hoe Down. This place is beautiful and amazing. Taking lots of photos and videos (as usual) and doing interviews - spoke with Will Tuttle and his wife earlier. Not sure when the full posts will be up, but I hope you enjoy these photos in the meantime! : )

Eco-Vegan Eats in Portland, OR

I have only been in Portland for a day, but I have already done so much and I'm having a blast! I'm making videos of it all, but it may take me some time to get them up, so here's a summary in the meantime.
