It’s no secret that I have a major sweet tooth. When I decided to become vegan I really missed a lot of those classic candy bars I would indulge in occasionally, especially Reese’s Peanut Butter cups. There was something about those overly sugary little cups of joy that had me craving them every few months or so. It’s probably a good thing they aren’t vegan because let’s be honest here, they really aren’t good for (or your waistline). Enter Buddha Cups - Raw Organic Dark Chocolate Almond Butter Cups. Lovingly made in Brooklyn, NY these chocolates are dairy free, gluten free, soy free, vegan, fair trade and free of refined sugar. Sounds pretty awesome right?!

The day they arrived in the mail I was so excited to try them, but had to contain myself until I was able to snap a couple pics - not an easy task! I also promised a friend I would save one for him to try as well, he’s lucky I’m true to my word because I was very tempted to eat them all! Buddha Cups look similar to those other candies from my past but upon first bite you know you are eating something much better. Not as sweet as I was expecting but that’s probably a good thing; as much as I love sweets I never feel too great after eating something super sweet and sugary. These are creamy and delicious and taste like real food, not overly processed factory candy. If you’re looking for an amazing chocolate experience that you don’t have to feel too guilty about, then I definitely recommend you check out Buddha Cups.

Have you tried these chocolates? What is your favorite healthy candy?
